How much does a boat excursion from Cala Gonone cost?
Excursions with skipper start from € 70 per person in low season for the Classic Excursion, up to € 120 per person in August for the Fiordi Excursion. Exclusive use of the boat is also available for those who prefer to have it all to themselves.
What does the Classic Excursion include?
Stops at Cala Goloritzè and the Venus Pools, with skipper on board and a maximum of 12 passengers per boat.
What's the difference between the Classic Excursion and the Fiordi one?
The Fiordi Excursion adds a stop at the Fiordi di Capo Monte Santo, on top of the Classic stops (Cala Goloritzè and the Venus Pools).
How does payment for the excursion work?
Online you pay a 10% deposit of the total via PayPal; the remaining balance is paid on the day of the excursion.
What happens if the sea is rough on the day of the excursion?
The deposit is refunded in full if you cancel at least 72 hours before departure. Within 72 hours a refund is due only if the Port Authority suspends departures. Cancellations within 72 hours for other reasons give no right to a refund, including less-than-ideal weather (rain, light wind) that still allows the trip to run.
How do I find out about available departure times?
Contact us and book to find out which departures are available — at least one departure is guaranteed every day. Booking in advance also lets you plan your day better, including early morning departures, when the coast can be enjoyed more peacefully.
What's included in the price of the excursion?
A seat on board the boat, accompanied by one of our skippers who will guide you along the coast until around 5:30 PM. Not included: lunch, any tickets for the
Bue Marino Cave or the
Fico Cave, and anything not explicitly specified. Besides the Bue Marino Caves, visitable at an extra cost in the afternoon, our skipper will also take you to see other beautiful coves along the cliffs.
Is lunch included?
No, lunch is not included in the price of the excursion. With advance booking, though, we can have a packed lunch and a drink ready for you in the morning, or provide a cooler bag on request. With the excursion aboard the M/N Lunar or the deluxe package, lunch can be booked.
Which beaches do you visit, and how many stops are there?
Usually you'll stop at at least 2-3 beaches, with stops lasting from 1 hour to 2.5 hours — the boat reaches the shore via the beach lanes, so at most you'll get your feet wet. You'll see all the beaches up to
Cala Goloritzè (also the Fjords on some departures). Stops are decided by the skipper based on crowding and sea/weather conditions, and may include
Cala Luna,
Cala Sisine,
Cala Biriola,
Cala Mariolu, Le Sorgenti or
Cala Goloritzè.
Can you see places that larger boats can't reach?
Yes — some corners of the coast can only be visited with small boats like ours: the
Venus Pools, the waters of Iscorianna, the Sorgenti springs and the Arch of
Goloritzè are among the most magical spots in the Gulf.
Can you swim during the excursion?
Yes, the skipper decides how many anchor swim stops to make and how long they last, depending on conditions. Usually there's at least one dive from the boat, with an easy climb back up via a ladder.
