The Gorropu Gorge is a canyon in the heart of the Supramonte, between Dorgali and Urzulei, carved by the Rio Flumineddu. You can walk in from three sides, each very different.
Drive through the Oddoene valley among the vineyards and leave the car at the S'Abba Arva bridge, where there is an equipped picnic area. From here you walk about 7 km, almost flat, along the Rio Flumineddu, with natural pools to swim in. It takes about two hours one way.
Park at the Genna Silana pass, on the SS 125 around km 183, and a scenic path of about 4 km drops towards the gorge entrance. The way down is quick, but the return is all uphill: roughly 650 metres of climbing.
Trail B-502 is about 12 km long, with roughly 200 metres of climbing. It is a route for experienced hikers, with proper equipment and, ideally, a guide.
