On foot in the Gulf of Orosei

Trails, gorges and coves from Cala Gonone to Santa Maria Navarrese and Oliena, with times, access and tips for each.

Six routes, one gulf

The Gulf of Orosei and the Supramonte can be crossed on foot: from the coastal path at Cala Gonone to the gorges of the Supramonte, along the Baunei coast towards Santa Maria Navarrese, up to the slopes of Oliena. Here are the main routes, described with times and access. This is orientation, not a guidebook: on expert stretches, trust someone who knows them.

Before you go
Before you go. Carry plenty of water (on many stretches there is none), hiking shoes, a hat and sun cream. Summers are very hot: start early. Phone signal is often missing: tell someone your route. Times are approximate and change with fitness and season. On expert routes, rely on a qualified local guide.
