On Monte Tiscali, on the border between Dorgali and Oliena, an ancient village hides inside a large sinkhole: you cannot see it from below, and only find it on reaching the opening in the rock wall.
The archaeological site stands on a 518 m mountain, about 90% in the territory of Dorgali and the rest in Oliena. You walk to it from the S'Abba Arva bridge, the same starting point as the north access to the Gorropu Gorge. Entry is paid and the site is guarded at night.
On the other side of the Supramonte, Oliena is the end point of the Great Supramonte Traverse: four days from Arcu Correboi to the Su Gologone spring, listed by the Sardinia Region among the island's finest treks. It is a long and remote route, to be planned with a local guide.
