Dirt tracks, trails and coves: two guided experiences on the Baunei coast, in Ogliastra.
Baunei is one of the municipalities on the Ogliastra coast, south of the Gulf of Orosei, between the Supramonte plateau and the sea. Its territory includes coves of sand and pebbles closed in by rock walls, such as Cala Sisine, reached along a dirt track through pasture and scrub, where you meet cows, donkeys and goats roaming free. On the same coast lies Cala Goloritzè, the most distinctive cove of the Gulf, with its white beach, the rock arch over the water and the spire loved by climbers.

Half a day on long-wheelbase quad bikes, starting from Ardali (Baunei) at 9:00 or 15:00. Your guide leads you along about 30 km of scenic dirt track, through pastures where you meet cows, donkeys, goats and wild boar, up to the car parks above Cala Sisine. There you have about an hour to swim in crystal-clear water, sunbathe and use the refreshment point. Then you ride back the same way, reaching Ardali around 13:00 or 19:00. Beginner to intermediate level: these are outings to enjoy the landscape, not races.
A guided hike from Baunei to Cala Goloritzè, one of the loveliest coves in Ogliastra. The route follows white limestone paths through Mediterranean scrub, among rocks and scents, and the guide also explains the local geology. Along the way you see the Aguglia di Goloritzè, a natural monument loved by climbers, and the rock arch over the water, the symbol of the place. You arrive at the white beach and crystal-clear water, where you can swim and stop for the packed lunch. It is about 8 km with 470 m of ascent, hiking grade (E), around 8 hours in all with stops. Standard group, up to 20 people.
